Thank you, Global!

I would like to thank everyone at Global and especially Lindsay Clandfield and Matthew Kay for giving me the opportunity to be guest blogger on the Global website and also for the material I received! My last blog post is dedicated to everyone at Macmillan!

As this is my last post for Global, I would like to refer to all the great things I have done with my students with these great books.

• First of all, great material that the students really like and enjoy! My students, a group of enthusiastic bankers, were very impressed at first sight with the Global package they received for their lessons. The really enjoy the layout of the book, the topics and the extra material: the eWorkbook and the CD-ROM. They find them very useful.

• The range of topics: The students enjoy the topics covered in Global and we have excellent and rich discussions thanks to them. The issues are very topical and the students feel they can be prepared through them to have real discussions with the people they come into contact with. Additionally, the new vocabulary is presented in such a way that the students can incorporate it immediately.

• The grammar points: The grammar is presented concisely, without long-winded theory, but with the main points clearly presented and great exercises where they can apply everything they have learned. Plus, there is extra grammar in the eWorkbook that they can do online or print for those who like their work on paper; they can work on this at home and review everything we have done in class.

• Incorporation of all skills: The students and I particularly like the fact that we can work on all the skills using just one book and not four or more different ones, making the learning process cumbersome and costly perhaps. In addition to that, we can work on activities that go from one skill to the other. For instance, something that we are discussing can then be turned into a written activity, grasping the opportunity from a specific task in the book. This interconnectedness of activities is a very big advantage of the series.

To sum up, Global is the best choice I could have ever made for my adult students for these very important reasons. Many, many thanks to everyone at Macmillan – from my students and me …
